"My daddy from space"

Films: The Day the World Ended (2001)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Forest/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: The last time we had a day where the planet met its demise, as far as the title was concerned, we saw a water-intolerant devil-like mutant attack the remnants of humanity. Now, the story couldn't be more different. But we dare say it's a little bit better...

History: Long ago in a small Canadian town, Maggie and Ben Miller were born with psychic powers that terrified the populace. In their mistrust and panic, a particularly brutal person killed Maggie, and took her son as his own. Now, Ben lives as a McCann with the thoroughly abusive man. In his isolation, Bob wishes that he had a different dad. One from space. Of course, his fixation on 50s b-movies manifests itself as the Visitor, a monster summoned into the real world. But then the beast proceeds to kill everyone who was involved with Maggie's last day, and there's nothing Ben can do to stop it.

Notable Kills: Tears off a woman's face, and forces its tendrils into a man.

Final Fate: After confronting his creation, Ben manages to convince the Visitor to spare him and his surrogate mother. As for that man, he is the last victim before the monster sadly bids his master farewell and dissipates into nothing.

Powers/Abilities: His tendrils are strong enough to pierce skin and his crab claw abdomen keeps people in place.

Weakness: If all of the sources of Ben's angst are dead, the Visitor will no longer exist.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-The Visitor is pretty much every savage humanoid alien of the b-movie golden age molded into one terrifying package. From the rows of sharp teeth to the tentacle-like growths to that crab leg-filled abdomen, this abomination cannot be controlled nor stopped from brutally eviscerating anyone on its bad side.

Trivia: -As with many monstrous humanoids in this decade and the one before it, the Visitor was played by Brian Steele.

-Ben was played by Bobby Edner, who would later go on to pursue a rapping and singing career, particularly with the boyband "Varsity Fanclub". And now we're imagining a sequel where Ben summons a street-smart jive monster to take out rival artists. That, or the Visitor again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

True terror is incomprehensible.

Well...we all have to start from somewhere. I can relate.

It's always something being a father for the first and last time.
